Medial Femoral Condyle Microvascular Bone Transfer as a Treatment for Capitate Avascular Necrosis: Surgical Technique and Case Report.

Unlabelled: Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the capitate is a rare clinical entity for which a variety of treatment options have been described, ranging from immobilization to microvascular bone transfer. Outcomes following medial femoral condyle corticocancellous free flap reconstruction have not been reported for this specific pathology. We present the case of a 16-year-old girl with posttraumatic capitate AVN who was treated with curettage and medial femoral condyle corticocancellous vascularized bone grafting.

Introduction And Aim: Problem drinking is rarely identified unless health-care professionals are specifically instructed to assess alcohol consumption. Individualised web-based alcohol interventions provide opportunities to enhance screening and early identification. We aimed to create a web-based brief personalised feedback intervention to enable client-centred screening and self-referral by problem drinkers recently admitted to hospital.

Until now, the safety of continuous axillary brachial plexus block in a patient with hemophilia has not been reported. We describe the use of continuous axillary brachial plexus block for postoperative pain control in a patient with severe hemophilia after an elbow surgery.

Musculoskeletal manifestations of the Antley-Bixler syndrome.

The Antley-Bixler syndrome is a rare disorder with many musculoskeletal anomalies that demand orthopedic assessment. The syndrome includes skeletal, craniofacial, and urogenital anomalies. The most common skeletal deformities are radiohumeral synostosis, craniosynostosis, multiple joint contractures, and arachnodactyly.

The aetiology of some of the most common conditions is reviewed, with an explanation of their manifestations in the hand and eye. Recognition of the association between a hand condition and ocular pathology may aid in diagnosis of a systemic disorder or allow early detection and prevention of ocular disease and loss of vision.
