Methods: In order to investigate the patient outcome and prognostic factors, starting October 1994, we distributed questionnaires to 324 paediatric rheumatology centres.
Results: Until 15 May 1998 responses from 46 centres were received, 34 of which returned completed questionnaires on a total of 135 patients.
Background: CINCA syndrome is a clinical syndrome of unclear etiology, characterized by a chronic multi-organ inflammatory process unsusceptible to treatment.
Case Report: An 18-month-old boy was admitted because he suffered, since the age of 2 months, from cutaneous, articular and neurological changes, lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, choroiditis and psychosomatic development retardation. These clinical symptoms were unsusceptible to anti-inflammatory and antihistaminic drugs.

A retrospective study of 66 juvenile arthritic patients with reactive amyloidosis for a mean 12 +/- 10.7 years (1 to 30 years) from the onset of amyloidosis was performed. Forty-seven of them received continuous long-term chlorambucil therapy.

Impedance rheography suggested impaired myocardial function. Abnormalities of pulmonary function included a decrease in diffusing lung capacity for CO (DL) values followed by restrictive ventilatory defects and mild alveolar hyperventilation.
