A proactive financial navigation intervention in patients with newly diagnosed gastric and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.

Purpose: Many cancer patients and caregivers experience financial hardship, leading to poor outcomes. Gastric and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer patients are particularly at risk for financial hardship given the intensity of treatment. This pilot randomized study among gastric/GEJ cancer patients and caregivers tested a proactive financial navigation (FN) intervention to obtain a signal of efficacy to inform a larger, more rigorous randomized study.

Changing the Landscape of the Neighborhood: The Expanding Role of the Pediatric Palliative Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.

There is a dearth of information on the role of the pediatric palliative advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) reported in the literature, and yet, the role is expanding. Advances in technology and health care are helping children with medical complexity live longer, and the demand for pediatric palliative care is growing. As programs expand to meet this need, there are new opportunities for pediatric palliative APRNs to practice outside acute care consultative models, within large children's hospitals.

Examining Relationships between Cognitive Flexibility, Exercise Perceptions, and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors.

Adults do not engage in enough physical activity. Investigating cognitive and physiological factors related to improving this behavior-and reducing health risks-remains a public health priority. Our objective was to assess whether cognitive flexibility influenced perceptions and choice of exercise programs and whether flexibility was associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors.

Improving Interprofessional Collaboration Between Behavioral Mental Health and Pediatric Primary Care Providers Through Standardized Communication.

Introduction: Pediatric mental health crisis increases demand for integrated behavioral health and pediatric primary care providers (PPCP). Communication is key to successful integrated pediatric behavioral-mental health, but studies demonstrate gaps between existing and desired communication practices. Project aims to improve PPCP factors and patient outcomes by implementing standardized communication tool in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
