Background: Despite increased antiretroviral therapy (ART) access in South Africa, HIV testing and ART initiation are suboptimal in hospital settings. Key gaps include in-hospital case finding, ART initiation support, and primary health care (PHC) facility linkage after discharge.

Intervention Development And Description: We identified weaknesses in hospital processes by comparing them with PHC HIV services and developed a quality improvement model for implementation in 5 Johannesburg hospitals.

Background: Case management is a structured, client centered approach that incorporates various strategies such as employing lay counsellors to provide psychosocial and adherence support to strengthen antiretroviral (ART) adherence, improve retention in care and viral load (VL) suppression. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of case management on VL in clients enrolled due to non-suppression (> = 50 copies/ml) in Capricorn District, Limpopo Province.

Methods: We conducted a case control study using two datasets (1) cases were selected from case management data collected from June 2021 to November 2022 at 35 facilities and captured on the REDCap system.

Introduction: Disengagement and re-engagement with antiretroviral therapy (ART) are common in South Africa, but routine monitoring is insufficient to inform policy development. To address this gap, Anova implemented the 2020 National Adherence Guidelines' re-engagement standard operating procedure (re-engagement SOP) and collected additional data to describe the characteristics of re-engagement visits to inform HIV programmes.

Methods: Between July and December 2022, we conducted a study at nine primary healthcare facilities in Johannesburg.

Nanoparticles (NPs) continue to be developed as labels for bioanalysis and imaging due to their small size and, in many cases, emergent properties such as photoluminescence (PL) and superparamagnetism. Some applications stand to benefit from amplification of the advantageous properties of a NP, but this amplification is not a simple matter of scaling for size-dependent properties. One promising approach to amplification is, therefore, to assemble many copies of a NP into a larger but still nanoscale and colloidal entity.
