Chickpea, a protein-rich legume grown primarily in tropical and subtropical regions, faces significant challenges due to drought stress. A field study was conducted over two years (2020-21 and 2021-22) aimed to identify chickpea genotypes that are tolerant to drought. The study involved 25 chickpea genotypes subjected to irrigated (control) and water stress (drought) conditions and the experiment was arranged in a split-plot design.

Background: Robotic surgery has been associated with superior short-term outcomes in patients undergoing total mesorectal excision (TME) for organ-confined rectal cancer. However, whether this approach offers an additional benefit over laparoscopy when performing lateral pelvic lymph node dissection (LPLND) with TME or extended TME (e-TME) in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) is not known.

Aims: This study was conducted to evaluate the outcomes of robotic and laparoscopic LPLND in patients with lateral pelvic node-positive LARC with reference to intraoperative safety, postoperative morbidity, pathological indices including nodal yield and node positivity rates, lateral pelvic recurrence rates, and short term event-free and overall survival.

Background And Aims: Anesthetic induction plays a pivotal role in determining the operative course and the outcome in patients with acute traumatic brain injury (TBI). The present study compared the effect of anesthetic induction with etomidate, thiopentone, and propofol primarily on systemic hemodynamics and regional cerebral oxygenation (rScO) and secondarily on the serum cortisol levels in TBI patients.

Material And Methods: In this prospective observational study, eligible patients were recruited and divided into three groups as per the induction agent received.

Flavonoids in fruits, vegetables, and plant-based drinks have potential neuroprotective properties, with clinical research focusing on their role in reducing oxidative stress, controlling inflammation, and preventing apoptosis. Some flavonoids, such as quercetin, kaempferol, fisetin, apigenin, luteolin, chrysin, baicalein, catechin, epigallocatechin gallate, naringenin, naringin, hesperetin, genistein, rutin, silymarin, and daidzein, have been presented to help heal damage to the central nervous system by affecting key signaling pathways including PI3K/Akt and NF-κB. This review systematically analyzed articles on flavonoids, neuroprotection, and brain and spinal cord injury from primary medical databases like Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science.

Global warming-induced abiotic stresses, such as waterlogging, significantly threaten crop yields. Increased rainfall intensity in recent years has exacerbated waterlogging severity, especially in lowlands and heavy soils. Its intensity is projected to increase by 14-35% in the future, posing a serious risk to crop production and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
