Article Synopsis
  • The study presents an innovative electrochemical biosensor for detecting heart-fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) using a core-shell structure of gold nano/micro-islands and imprinted o-phenylenediamine.
  • The biosensor demonstrates excellent performance with a low detection limit of 2.29 fg/mL, high sensitivity, and a broad detection range, while also showing rapid response time and high specificity against similar proteins.
  • Tested in human and bovine serum, the biosensor achieved recovery rates comparable to traditional ELISA methods, highlighting its potential for low-cost, high-sensitivity clinical applications.

In order to overcome the poor adhesion of zirconia-silica coating electrophoretically deposited on 316 L stainless steel, graphene oxide (GO) was used as an interlayer. The effect of this interlayer on morphological, microstructural, corrosion performance and bioactivity behavior of ZrO-10 at. % SiO coating was studied.

This review, with 201 references, describes the recent advancement in the application of carbonaceous nanomaterials as highly conductive platforms in electrochemical biosensing. The electrochemical biosensing is described in introduction by classifying biosensors into catalytic-based and affinity-based biosensors and statistically demonstrates the most recent published works in each category. The introduction is followed by sections on electrochemical biosensors configurations and common carbonaceous nanomaterials applied in electrochemical biosensing, including graphene and its derivatives, carbon nanotubes, mesoporous carbon, carbon nanofibers and carbon nanospheres.

Chitosan reinforced hydroxyapatite-graphene oxide (CS-GO-HA) nanocomposite coatings were developed using electrophoretic deposition process in order to improve the biological and electrochemical properties of Ti surface. Moreover, the role of anodized layer on the physical and electrochemical properties of the CS-GO-HA nanocomposite coating was evaluated. After synthesize of HA-GO nanopowder using a sol-gel process, nanocomposite coatings with various concentrations of chitosan (0.

Despite the attractive characteristics of three-dimensional pure hydroxyapatite (HA) scaffolds, due to their weak mechanical properties, researches have focused on the development of composite scaffolds via introducing suitable secondary components. The aim of this study was to develop, for the first time, three-dimensional HA-bredigite (Ca7MgSi4O16) scaffolds containing various amounts of bredigite nanopowder (0, 5, 10 and 15wt.%) using space holder technique.
