This study reports the effect of 120 MeV swift Auion irradiation on the structures of monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic ZrO, probed through x-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. Three phases of ZrOwere prepared using the solution combustion method. The tetragonal and cubic phases of ZrOwere stabilized at room temperature by adding 6% and 10% of yttrium ions, respectively.

This article reports a scalable process development for the production of alkyl esters through the esterification route by utilizing fly ash as a catalyst. The catalyst consisting of mixed oxides such as alumina, iron oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, and silica was employed for the esterification reaction without modification. The catalyst was evaluated for the conversion of feedstock containing variable amounts of free fatty acids, mono/dibasic acid, and alcohol/polyols into the corresponding alkyl esters.

Objectives: Accurately measuring the attenuation coefficient (AC) of reference phantoms is critical in clinical applications of quantitative ultrasound. Phantom AC measurement requires proper compensation of membrane transmission loss. Conventional methods require separate membrane samples to obtain membrane transmission loss.

Nanocrystalline Y2O3 is synthesized by solution combustion technique using urea and glycine as fuels. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of as prepared sample shows amorphous nature while annealed samples show cubic nature. The average crystallite size is calculated using Scherrer's formula and is found to be in the range 14-30 nm for samples synthesized using urea and 15-20 nm for samples synthesized using glycine respectively.
