All-solid-state Li-S batteries with fast solid-solid sulfur reaction.

With promises for high specific energy, high safety and low cost, the all-solid-state lithium-sulfur battery (ASSLSB) is ideal for next-generation energy storage. However, the poor rate performance and short cycle life caused by the sluggish solid-solid sulfur redox reaction (SSSRR) at the three-phase boundaries remain to be solved. Here we demonstrate a fast SSSRR enabled by lithium thioborophosphate iodide (LBPSI) glass-phase solid electrolytes (GSEs).

Development and testing of a questionnaire on the expectations and experiences with wearing face masks in inpatient and day hospitals.

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic made wearing of face masks mandatory in the psychotherapeutic context. Against this background, the present study aimed to compare the expectations of patients undergoing day-hospital or inpatient treatment regarding wearing a mask in psychotherapy before the start of therapy with the final experience after the end of therapy. The study also investigated the extent to which expectations and experiences were influenced by other factors such as socio-demographic characteristics, patients' general attitudes towards wearing a mask, duration of treatment, or mental health diagnoses.

Effect of Nonprotein Components for Lipid Oxidation in Emulsions Stabilized by Plant Protein Extracts.

Plant protein ingredients are rich in non-protein components of which the antioxidant and pro-oxidant effects are expected to be considerable. In this paper, commercial soy and pea protein isolates and concentrates were selected by using their soluble fractions to prepare oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions. Emulsions stabilized with soy protein isolates were more prone to lipid oxidation than those with soy protein concentrate or pea protein isolate.

Prevalence and Correlates of Dry Eye in a German Population Sample.

Purpose: In this cross-sectional survey, we assessed the prevalence of dry eye disease (DED) in a representative German population sample. In addition, we examined the associations between DED, health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and level of fatigue. Finally, we further validated the German version of the Standard Patient Evaluation of Eye Dryness (SPEED) questionnaire and present norm data of the German population.
