Sleep has strong inflammatory underpinnings and diet is one of the primary determinants of systemic inflammation. A systematic literature review was conducted to synthesize current research associating dietary inflammatory potential, as measured by the dietary inflammatory index (DII®) or the energy-adjusted DII (E-DII™) and sleep quality and duration. The National Library of Medicine (Medline), Web of Science, and PsycInfo databases were searched through March 2023.

The product of 1-deoxy-d-xyluose 5-phosphate (DXP) synthase, DXP, feeds into the bacterial biosynthesis of isoprenoids, thiamin diphosphate (ThDP), and pyridoxal phosphate. DXP is essential for human pathogens but not utilized by humans; thus, DXP synthase is an attractive anti-infective target. The unique ThDP-dependent mechanism and structure of DXP synthase offer ideal opportunities for selective targeting.

Performance evaluations and corrections of soil water sensors have not been studied using different installation orientations under various irrigation treatments in the Texas High Plains. This study evaluated the performance of four sensors using factory calibration and derived field corrections as compared to calibrated neutron moisture meters (NMMs). Sensor performance was assessed using horizontal insertion, laid horizontal placement, and vertical insertion at 15.
