Small ruminant lentivirus (SRLV) infections are spread in the flocks of sheep and goats all over the world, causing economic loss. Although only a fraction of infected animals develop disease symptoms, all of them may shed the virus, causing uncontrolled spread of the infection. Antibodies against the virus can be detected in the blood of infected animals and are the main marker of infection.

Abnormal cytoplasmic localization and accumulation of pathological transactive response DNA binding protein of 43 kDa (TDP-43) underlies several devastating diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration with TDP-43 pathology (FTLD-TDP). A key element is the correlation between disease progression and spatio-temporal propagation of TDP-43-mediated pathology in the central nervous system. Several lines of evidence support the concept of templated aggregation and cell to cell spreading of pathological TDP-43.

Background: Although, oocytes from prepubertal donors are known to be less developmentally competent than those from adult donors it does not restrain their ability to produce full-term pregnancies. The transcriptomic profile of embryos could be used as a predictor for embryo's individual developmental competence. The aim of the study was to compare transcriptomic profile of blastocysts derived from prepubertal and pubertal heifers oocytes.

Introduction: Magnetic Resonance-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) thermal ablation is an effective noninvasive ultrasonic therapy to disrupt porcine tendon but is prone to inducing skin burns. We evaluated the safety profile of a novel hybrid protocol that minimizes thermal spread by combining long-pulse focused ultrasound followed by thermal ablation.

Methods: Achilles tendons (hybrid  = 15, thermal ablation alone  = 21) from 15 to 20 kg Yorkshire pigs were randomly assigned to 6 treatment groups in two studies.
