Bow Hunter's Syndrome with Rotational Atlantoaxial Instability: A Rare Association.

Bow Hunter's syndrome (BHS) is a very rare condition in which there is rotational vertebral artery (VA) insufficiency. The association of BHS with rotational atlantoaxial instability is extremely rare. We are reporting a case of pediatric BHS who presented with features of VA insufficiency on neck rotation.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of respiratory tract infections in young children, globally. Autophagy is a cellular degradation process that mediates cell survival. Studies using mouse models have demonstrated that inhibiting autophagy affects the production of cytokines triggered by RSV.

Variations in mitochondrial DNA control region among Malay and Chinese subpopulations (sequence 16000-16200).

DNA variations are alterations found in DNA sequence, occurring in both nuclear DNA and mitochondrial DNA. Variations might differ in individual following population, respectively. The aim of this study was to find variations in target sequence of mtDNA (16000-16200) to be used as marker in Malay and Chinese population.
