To investigate the bone augmentation effects of domestic decellularized porcine small intestinal submucosa (PSIS) absorbable biomembrane and domestic bovine pericardium tissue (BPT) absorbable biomembrane in guided bone regeneration (GBR) for single-tooth implantation in diabetic patients. A prospective case-control study was conducted with 48 diabetic patients who received single-tooth implant restoration at the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Stomatology. The Fourth Military Medical University, between January 2023 and January 2024.

The exploration of materials with nanoscale noncollinear configurations has been continuously attracting attention due to the prospective applications in high-performance magnetic devices. Compared to ferromagnetic materials, noncollinear structures in frustrated magnets hold greater research value due to their smaller sizes and unique properties. However, an effective description of the nanoscale noncollinear domain structures in frustrated magnets is lacking.

So far, the striking sign reversal in the near-ambient slope of the gap temperature dependence of colloidal CsPbCl perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) compared to its Br counterpart remains unresolved. Pure bromide NCs exhibit a linear gap increase with increasing temperature, to which thermal expansion and electron-phonon interaction equally contribute. In contrast, the temperature slope for the chlorine compound gap is clearly negative.

As an alternative to bulk counterparts, metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticles isolated within conductive mesoporous carbon matrices are of increasing interest for electrochemical applications. Although promising, a "clean" carbon surface is generally associated with poor compatibility and weak interactions with metal/ligand precursors, which leads to the growth of MOFs with inhomogeneous particle sizes on outer pore walls. Here, a general methodology for in situ synthesis of eight nanoMOF composites within mesochannels with high dispersity and stability are reported.

Background: There is discrepancy of results among various individual and me-ta-analytical studies about the effect of metformin on cancer risk and patients' survival. Therefore, we have conducted a comprehensive, updated meta-analysis to evaluate the preventive and therapeutic effects of metformin for cancer patients, as well as the inci-dence of adverse reactions, among metformin users.

Methods: A total of 18 studies (10 cohort studies and 8 randomized controlled trials) in-volving 1,300,820 participants from Europe, North America, and Asia were included in this meta-analysis.
