Analyzing LinkedIn data to explore the relationships between sustainable development goals, circular economy, and electoral dynamics.

In 2015, all United Nations Member States adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the 2030 agenda. Addressing the issue of employing alternative data sources for exploring aspects of utilizing said goals, this paper explores the Circular Economy dimension within the SDG12 score, focusing on responsible production and consumption and the broader SDG index. Data from LinkedIn are collected, examining profiles, companies, job postings, and services using the keywords 'Sustainable Development Goals' and 'Circular Economy'.

Historical evolution of olive oil production processes focusing on the role of water, the contribution of energy sources, and the by-product management: The case-study of Crete, Greece.

There are numerous studies dealing with olive oil management from ancient civilizations to the mid last century, but they are limited on the historical value of information. At the same time, much knowledge is widely available and accessible on the contemporaneous production of olive oil, the necessary inputs (water and energy) and outputs (by-products) of the production process. The present study aims to shed light on olive oil extraction management from antiquity to present and to bridge the gap between archaeological and modern agricultural, engineering, and environmental disciplines.

The transition to a Circular Economy (CE) is rapidly gaining ground across countries and industries. It is the means of achieving more sustainable development by adopting innovative environmentally friendly strategies and saving primary resources. There are several studies indicating the increasing public and corporate interest in the CE but still remain limited in terms of the multitude and utilization of social media data.

Status of Fishery Discards and By-Products in Greece and Potential Valorization Scenarios towards a National Exploitation Master Plan.

The valorization of aquaculture/fishery processing by-products, as well as unavoidable/unwanted catches and discards in Greece, is currently an underutilized activity despite the fact that there are several best practices in Northern Europe and overseas. One of the main challenges is to determine whether the available quantities for processing are sufficient to warrant the valorization of discards and fish side streams. This is the first attempt to systematically record and analyze the available quantities of fish by-products and discards in Greece spatially and temporally in an effort to create a national exploitation Master Plan for the valorization of this unavoidable and unwanted biomass.
