Bacteriophage-derived dsRNA (bp-dsRNA), also known as Larifan, is a poly-functional and wide-spectrum antiviral medication with potent interferonogenic activity. In the lungs of golden Syrian hamsters infected with SARS-CoV-2, Larifan substantially reduces viral load and decreases infection-induced pathological lesion severity. Alveolar macrophages (AM) are key sentinel cells in the lung, which play an important role in antiviral innate immune responses and, at the same time, can trigger infection-associated hyper-inflammatory response.

Reusing zebrafish facility equipment: Planning, investment and what we have learned.

The purpose of this study is to provide a detailed account of our successful experience in establishing a functional zebrafish holding facility by repurposing materials from a previous installation. On the eve of the start-up of our new animal facility we were notified that a research centre was putting part of its zebrafish holding facility (29 racks, accessories, water treatment unit) up for sale. Although the originally planned room was designed for six double racks, but encouraged by the increasing use of the zebrafish model, we decided to seize the opportunity, purchase the equipment and utilize it to create a larger configuration and an independent quarantine to protect the main facility.

Objective: The aim: To evaluate the dynamics of the interferon and collagen-IV systems in bronchoalveolar lavage in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease using the tiotropium bromide medication.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The study involved 60 COPD patients with bronchial obstruction of the II degree before and on days 30 and 60 of therapy using conventional treatment regimens and inhalations of tiotropium bromide a the dose of 18 mcg once a day. The collagen-IV levels in bronchoalveolar fluid were determined by means of enzyme-linked immunoassay using "StatFax 303 Plus" analyzer and "Biotrin Collagen IV EIA" reagents.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The analysis of 138 inpatient medical records, outpatient health cards and electronic database of the patient register was conducted. Resistant strains of MTB were microbiologically verified in all the patients.

Objective: The aim: Study the key aspects of organization of the process and individual characteristics of nutrition of pupils and students of different types of modern educational institutions.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: To adequately assess the process of organization of the regime and individual characteristics of nutrition of pupils and students of different types of modern educational institutions, we have evaluated the key characteristic features of a rational diet: number of daily meals and their duration, food consumption rate, conditions and priorities as well as distribution of dish volume and caloric content in accordance with food intake frequency.

Results: Results: The results of the study have shown a significantly high rate of abuses in individual diet key components.
