Article Synopsis
  • Probiogenomics helps analyze probiotic bacteria, such as Lactiplantibacillus plantarum CNPC024, to understand how they benefit the host and ensure their safety for use.
  • The study sequenced the genome of L. plantarum CNPC024, revealing a 3.2 Mb draft genome with 99% similarity to other probiotic L. plantarum strains.
  • Key findings include its ability to withstand harsh conditions, produce β-galactosidase for lactose intolerance, lack transferable antibiotic-resistance genes, and produce bacteriocins, along with metabolic pathways that may influence the host's immune system.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and devastating primary brain tumor among adults. It is highly lethal disease, as only 25% of patients survive longer than 1 year and only 5% more than 5 years from the diagnosis. To search for the new, more effective methods of treatment, the understanding of mechanisms underlying the process of tumorigenesis is needed.

Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) microspectroscopy is well known for its effectiveness in spectral and biochemical analyses of various materials. It enables to determine the sample biochemical composition by assigning detected frequencies, characteristic for functional groups of main biological macromolecules. In analysis of tissue sections one of two measurement modes, namely transmission and transflection, is usually applied.

Within the framework of the early benefit assessment, the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has been authorised since 2019 by the law for more safety in the supply of pharmaceuticals GSAV to request additional application-related data capture for certain pharmaceutical drugs. Background And Objective: Long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAIs) are associated with better treatment adherence and persistence than oral antipsychotics (OAPs) in patients with schizophrenia. However, real-world evidence assessing the impact of treatment with LAIs in Germany is limited. To fill this gap, we compared antipsychotic medication adherence and risk of treatment discontinuation (TD) among schizophrenia patients newly initiated on LAI or who switched their OAP regimen (overall cohort; OC).
