ASS lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries stand out due to their improved safety, achieved by replacing organic solvents, which are prone to leakage and fire, with solid electrolytes. In addition, these batteries offer the benefits of higher capacity and the absence of rare metals.

Optimizing Swine Oral Fluid Sampling Procedures for Growing Pigs in Commercial Settings.

Pen-based oral fluids are used extensively for surveillance and disease detection in swine, but there is sparse information on the sampling process itself. To address this shortcoming, we documented the pen-based oral fluid sampling process with the aim of optimizing the number of pigs in a pen that contributed to the sample. We quantified the effects of (1) previous experience with rope sampling (training), (2) the number of ropes suspended in the pen, and (3) sampling time on pig participation and pig-rope contact.

Black rice (BR) is beneficial for the health of animals and humans. Herein, we investigated the pharmacokinetics of cyanidin-3-glucoside (C3G), a major anthocyanin constituent of BR, in male rats. After its intravenous administration, C3G was rapidly distributed throughout the body and disappeared from the plasma.

The viscosity of silicate melts is one of the most important physical properties for understanding high-temperature phenomena in magmatic systems and material processing. The effects of composition and temperature on viscosity have long been elucidated. Although iron ions are the main components of magmatic systems, their influence on viscosity remains unclear because the behavior of iron is complicated; iron ions have two redox states, Fe3+ and Fe2+.

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of Finerenone for Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes from Japanese Payer Perspective.

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a major cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in Japan, and there is an increasing treatment need for first- and second-line care in these patients. The addition of finerenone to current treatment modalities lowers the risk of CKD progression and cardiovascular events in patients with CKD and T2D from the Japanese payer perspective. This study investigated the cost-effectiveness analysis of adding finerenone to standard of care (SoC) versus SoC alone for the treatment of CKD in patients with T2D.
