The prognostic importance of the negative regulators of ferroptosis, GPX4 and HSPB1, in patients with colorectal cancer.

The prognostic value of negative regulators of ferroptosis in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) has not yet been fully elucidated. The present study performed a systematic identification and selection of candidate negative regulators of ferroptosis using The Cancer Genome Atlas data cohort (n=367), followed by clinical validation through immunohistochemistry of samples from patients with CRC (n=166) and further evaluation. analysis identified specific light-chain subunit of the cystine/glutamate antiporter, AIFM2, NFE2L2, FTH1, GLS2, glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and heat shock protein β-1 (HSPB1) genes as possible candidates.

Preparation of a Stable Indomethacin Supersaturated Solution Using Hydrophobically Modified Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose and α-Cyclodextrin.

In the present study, the stability of a supersaturated solution of indomethacin (IM) was evaluated in hydrophobically modified hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HM-HPMC) solutions, with and without parent cyclodextrins (CDs). A highly supersaturated state of IM was maintained in the HM-HPMC solution and was further stabilized by the addition of α-CD and β-CD. Notably, the highest level of supersaturation was achieved in HM-HPMC/α-CD solution, which maintained a high concentration of IM for up to 120 h.

Workload and emotional exhaustion among older assistant care workers in Japan: Buffering effect of work resources.

Aim: Based on the Job Demands-Resources model, this study aimed to assess the predictive effect of workload on emotional exhaustion and test the buffering effect of three types of work resources (workplace cohesion, work control, and workplace support) on the relationship between workload and emotional exhaustion among older Japanese assistant care workers.

Methods: We analyzed data from a national survey on the work features and work-related outcomes of 1601 older assistant care workers working in geriatric health services facilities in Japan. Demographic characteristics, workload, work resources, and emotional exhaustion were analyzed.

Purpose: Although the association between oral health and physical frailty is well established, psychological frailty has not been investigated. Therefore, this prospective cohort study was conducted to examine the association between masticatory performance and psychological frailty in older community-dwelling Japanese individuals.

Methods: The participants included 498 older adults who completed baseline and 3- and 6-year follow-up surveys.
