The Ca ionophore A23187 induces endothelium-dependent and non-receptor-mediated vasodilation in human adipose arterioles (HAAs). The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism of A23187-induced dilation in HAAs from patients with and without coronary artery disease (CAD). HAAs were freshly isolated from adipose tissues obtained from non-CAD (n = 25) and CAD (n = 14) patients, and vascular reactivity was studied by videomicroscopy.

Background And Aims: Diabetes dramatically increases the risk of cardiovascular complications and mortality. Hydrogen sulphide plays an important role in reducing oxidative stress. Several studies demonstrated that hydrogen sulphide protects islet beta cells from oxidant stress damage and decreases apoptosis.

Endothelium-dependent component of cannabinoid-induced vasodilation has been postulated to require G-protein-coupled non-CB/CB endothelial cannabinoid (eCB) receptor. GPR18 was proposed as a candidate for eCBR. To address the hypothesis that the effects attributed to eCBR are mediated by G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)-independent targets, we studied the electrical responses in endothelial cells, focusing on BK channels.

The objective of the study was to examine the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulde donor; sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS), on thefree radical generation, cNOS uncoupling in the myocardium, and diastolicfunction in old rats. To evaluate diastolic function of the heart, we used pressure-volume (PV) conductance catheter system (Millar Instruments, USA). It was shown that H2S levels in.

Aging increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study was to show the effect of propargylg- lycine (PPG) upon cardiohemodynamics in old rats. We used pressure-volume (PV) conductance catheter system (Millar Instruments, USA) in order to evaluate systolic and diastolic function in vivo.
