Various contraceptive options are available, and unwanted pregnancies therefore ought to be avoidable. This study aimed to investigate if women received counselling and prescriptions for contraception during their termination and if this or other factors impacted their risk of repeat termination.

The supply of nitrogen (N) and the efficiency with which it is used by phytoplankton serve as two fundamental controls on the productivity of many marine ecosystems. Shifts in nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) can decouple primary production from N-supply but how NUE varies across systems is poorly known. Through a global synthesis of how total N (TN) is apportioned among phytoplankton, particulate, dissolved inorganic, and dissolved organic pools, we demonstrate that NUE underlies broad variations in primary production.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a life-threatening condition characterized by the weakening and dilation of the abdominal aorta. Few diagnostic biomarkers have been proposed for this condition. We performed mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis of affinity-enriched plasma from 45 patients with AAA and 45 matched controls to identify changes to the plasma proteome and potential diagnostic biomarkers.
