Aim: A retrospective case-control study was initiated to determine the risk factors for the development of posterior capsule opacification.

Subjects And Methods: 100 cases of patients with secondary cataract treated by YAG laser capsulotomy were compared with 100 controls (patients who had cataract surgery not complicated with a secondary cataract). The posterior capsule was examined by the biomicroscope.

Episcleral single injection anesthesia in the caruncle ovoïds the rare but potentially dangerous complications and incidents of classic local anesthesia.
