Renorrhaphy is often performed after tumor resection during robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RAPN). This study aimed to investigate the association between renorrhaphy performance and inflammatory markers. A retrospective cohort study was conducted including patients with renal cell carcinoma who underwent RAPN at eight institutions in Japan between April 2016 and November 2023.

A risk index tool to minimize the risk of nitrogen loss from land to water.

Simple models can help reduce nitrogen (N) loss from land and protect water quality. However, the complexity of primary production systems may impair the accuracy of simple models. A tool was developed that assessed the risk of N loss as the product of N source inputs and relative transport by leaching and runoff.

Lattice oxygen insertion mechanism in CeO-catalyzed reactions in water: nitrile hydration reaction.

Cerium oxide (CeO) exhibits prominent catalytic activity in various organic reactions owing to its unique acid-base and redox properties. One of the most interesting applications of pure CeO-catalyzed organic reactions is the hydration of nitriles in water. The experimental results showed that the hydration of 2-cyanopyridine to picolinamide in water using CeO catalysts proceeds readily at low temperatures (30-100 °C) in high yields and that this reaction occurs exclusively on CeO among various metal-oxide catalysts.

[Two Cases of Metanephric Adenoma Operated on for Preoperative Diagnosis of Renal Malignancy].

Metanephric adenoma is an extremely rare disease. We describe two cases of metanephric adenoma. Case 1 : A 17-year-old male adolescent developed gross hematuria, and urinalysis revealed positive protein and occult blood.

Tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 (TFPI2) is a potential serum biomarker for clear cell renal carcinoma.

Renal and ovarian clear cell carcinoma (CCC) are both characterized by a clear cytoplasm and exhibit similar genomic alterations and clinical characteristics. We hypothesized that both CCCs may share clinical biomarker. Tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2 (TFPI2), a serine protease inhibitor, has emerged as a promising serum biomarker for ovarian CCC, and we evaluated the efficacy of TFPI2 as a biomarker for renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
