Topical tranexamic acid is used to treat epistaxis. We reviewed the evidence for this practice, and found based on the current literature, it may be a useful adjunct in managing epistaxis.

Background: The V to Y advancement flap offers an excellent option for reconstructing defects of the lobule and adjacent structures of the external ear. We demonstrate its utility for small defects of the earlobe including those extending to the antitragal and conchal bowl regions. To our knowledge use of this technique for earlobe reconstruction has not been reported.

Background: Mobile health apps (mHealth apps) are increasing in popularity and utility for the management of many chronic diseases. Although the current reimbursement structure for mHealth apps is lagging behind the rapidly improving functionality, more clinicians will begin to recommend these apps as they prove their clinical worth. Payors such as the government or private insurance companies will start to reimburse for the use of these technologies, especially if they add value to patients by providing timely support, a more streamlined patient experience, and greater patient convenience.

Endosialin/TEM1/CD248 is a cell surface protein expressed at high levels by the malignant cells of about 50% of sarcomas and neuroblastomas. The antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) anti-endosialin-MC-VC-PABC-MMAE was selectively cytotoxic to endosialin-positive cells in vitro and achieved profound and durable antitumor efficacy in preclinical human tumor xenograft models of endosialin-positive disease. MC-VC-PABC-MMAE was conjugated with anti-endosialin with 3-4 MMAE molecules per ADC.
