Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal formulation composed of three fruits: amla (Phyllanthus emblica), bibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica), and haritaki (Terminalia chebula). Triphala is a potent Ayurvedic remedy that promotes digestion, detoxification, and overall wellness, while also providing antioxidant benefits through its trio of nutrient-rich fruits. In order to elucidate the individual contributions of the three ingredients of Triphala from molecular perspective, the individual ingredients were used for the untargeted LCMS/MS analysis.

Since the pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first reported from Wuhan, China, there has been a surge in scientific research to find a permanent cure for the disease. The main challenge in effective drug discovery is the continuously mutating nature of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Thus, we have used the I-TASSER modeling to predict the structure of the SARS-CoV-2 viral envelope protein followed by combinatorial computational assessment to predict its putative potential small molecule inhibitors.

Sodium salt of aryl sulfinic acid reacts with enynone in a different manner, yielding α-furyl sulfone and stereodefined vinyl sulfone in toluene and EtOH respectively in the presence of ZnCl. The salient features of this protocol include chemoselectivity, broad substrate scope, high efficiency, high yield, and easy purification. The synthetic utilities of the products are demonstrated by cycloaddition and cis-trans photoisomerization reactions.

The development of photoswitches that absorb low energy light is of notable interest due to the growing demand for smart materials and therapeutics necessitating benign stimuli. Donor-acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs) are molecular photoswitches that respond to light in the visible to near-infrared spectrum. As a result of their modular assembly, DASAs can be modified at the donor, acceptor, triene, and backbone heteroatom molecular compartments for the tuning of optical and photoswitching properties.

Antimicrobial therapy is becoming less effective because of the rising microbial resistance. Surgical site infections (SSI) are one of the major complications that require modifications in the infection control policy for effective management. To develop a model for predicting the readmission rates post-SSI treatment and to identify prevalent microbial isolates and the respective trends in resistance patterns.
