The objective of this preliminary announcement is to present the favourable results and the influence over the symptoms of premature delivery after peroral progesterone supplementation to the classical tocolytic therapy. The positive results of administering progesterone during the second trimester of pregnancy (24-35 gestation weeks) are outlined. View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors carried out a retrospective study on the incidence of foetal macrosomia and the method of delivery on the 6157 consecutive births for a two-year period in the University Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology "Maichin Dom"- Sofia, Bulgaria. The incidence of foetal macrosomia (birth weight > 4000 g) among these births was 4,45% (274/6157 births). There was a coincidence between the admission diagnosis Macrosomia and the birth weight only in 8% of the cases.
