Titanium dioxide (TiO) based photocatalysts have been widely used as a photocatalyst for the degradation of various persistent organic compounds in water and air. The degradation mechanism involves the generation of highly reactive oxygen species, such as hydroxyl radicals, which react with organic compounds to break down their chemical bonds and ultimately mineralize them into harmless products. In the case of pharmaceutical and pesticide molecules, TiOand modified TiOphotocatalysis effectively degrade a wide range of compounds, including antibiotics, pesticides, and herbicides.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study aimed to investigate the link between asthma control and fasting lipid profiles, given previous conflicting research on the topic.
  • - Researchers examined 107 asthmatic patients, categorizing them into controlled and uncontrolled asthma groups based on symptoms and lung function tests, and analyzed their lipid levels.
  • - The results indicated that patients with uncontrolled asthma had significantly higher low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels and total cholesterol to high-density lipoprotein (TC: HDL) ratios compared to those with controlled asthma.

River nutrient enrichment is a significant issue, and researchers worldwide are concerned about phosphorus. The physicochemical characteristics and phosphorus (P) fractions of 36 sediment and water samples from the Ganga (Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi) and Yamuna (Mathura, Agra, Prayagraj) rivers were examined. Among the physicochemical parameters, pH exceeded the permissible limit in Ganga and Yamuna River water and sediment samples.

Background: The COVID-19 global pandemic exposed gaps in the treatment of common physical and mental disorders that had to do with things like lockdowns, poor convenience, fear of contracting COVID, and economic constraints. Hence, to address these treatment gaps while also limiting exposure to the COVID-19 infection, telemedicine in the form of telephone and internet consultations has increasingly become the recourse around the world. Our center adopted this trend and also launched a telepsychiatry initiative in order to better cater to the needs of patients with pre-existing mental health disorders and to ensure regular follow-ups and compliance with prescription regiments.
