Background:  Early diagnosis of patients with Barrett's esophagus is required to  implement appropriate treatment to prevent neoplastic disease development. In  this work, we examined the usefulness of autofluorescence imaging as a method to increase the sensitivity of targeted biopsy under numerical color value control with  the additional conversion of autofluorescence images into spatial green autofluorescence intensity images.

Methods: 148 patients were included in the study.

In the period of long development, the human body adapted to specific concentrations of trace elements. Any changes in the trace element content manifesting in a deficiency or excess of metals in the human body may impair the functioning of the skeletal and articular system and of the organs, and may also predispose the body to the development of diseases, i.e.

The aim of the study was to assess phosphorus (P) concentration in structures of the knee joint-including the tibial spongy bone, articular cartilage, meniscus, anterior cruciate ligament, and infrapatellar fat pad (Hoffa's fat pad)-of patients following knee joint replacement. The study also aimed to assess the influence of selected biological and environmental factors on P concentration in studied parts of the knee joint. Phosphorus concentration was determined using inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES).

Background: Tacrolimus (Tac), an essential component of immunosuppressive therapy after solid-organ transplantation, has a narrow therapeutic index and requires therapeutic drug monitoring. Monitoring of Tac predose blood concentrations seems to be not always sufficient to avoid adverse effects. The aim of the study was to evaluate the levels of main Tac metabolites, 13-O-demethyl tacrolimus (13-DMT), 31-O-demethyl tacrolimus (31-DMT), and 15-O-demethyl tacrolimus (15-DMT), in kidney transplant recipients and to link them to clinical and biochemical parameters.
