In vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and vascular endothelial cells (VECs), phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP) acts as a substrate for phospholipase C (PLC)- and phosphoinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)-mediated signaling pathways and an unmodified ligand at ion channels and other macromolecules, which are key processes in the regulation of cell physiological and pathological phenotypes. It is envisaged that these distinct roles of PIP are achieved by PIP-binding proteins, which act as PIP buffers to produce discrete pools of PIP that permits targeted release within the cell. This review discusses evidence for the expression, cell distribution, and role of myristoylated alanine-rich C-kinase substrate (MARCKS), a PIP-binding protein, in cellular signaling and function of VSMCs.

Background: There is a lack of evidence on effective treatments for depression in people with T2DM, particularly in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This study aims to test the feasibility and acceptability of a culturally adapted Behavioural Activation (BA) intervention (DiaDeM) for people with depression and T2DM in two South Asian LMICs.

Methods: A multicountry, individually randomised-controlled feasibility trial was conducted from March 2022 to November 2022.

In this study, we have developed agar, a seaweed derived polysaccharide based green adsorbent for the removal of heavy metal ions (Pb, Cu, Cr and Cd) from multimetal solution. Porous cryogels of agar grafted with 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) were prepared by freeze-drying. The adsorption capacity and selectivity of the optimized APTES-agar cryogel for heavy metal ions (Cu, Cr, Pb, Cd) were investigated in multimetal solutions.

Our research focused on understanding the genetic mechanisms that contribute to the tolerance of (Chlorophyta), a marine macroalgae, to the combined stress of high temperature and high light intensity. At the mRNA level, the up-regulated DEGs showed enrichment in pathways related to ribosomes, proteasomes, and peroxisomes. The spliceosome pathway genes were found to be vital for 's ability to adapt to various challenging situations in all the comparison groups.

In contrast to previously reported free-radical pathways to functionalize imidazo[1,2-]pyridines at the C-5 centre, directing group approaches are rare. Herein, we demonstrate a rhodium(III) catalyzed efficient and regioselective strategy for directed C-5 functionalization of imidazo[1,2-]pyridines using -methoxyamide as a directing group. This methodology facilitates directed arylation without the necessity for pre-functionalization.
