- This systematic review analyzed randomized controlled trials on integrated behavioral interventions for adults with alcohol use disorder (AUD).
- The review included 11 studies with 1,543 participants, showing that integrated interventions significantly reduced heavy drinking and increased days of abstinence compared to usual care or other treatments.
- While integrated interventions demonstrated better results in reducing alcohol consumption and improving mental health, more evidence is needed to definitively compare their effectiveness against standard care for AUD.
Objectives: This cross-sectional survey aimed to examine employment characteristics and their associations with employment precarity in two high socioeconomic hardship Chicago neighborhoods.
Methods: We used a community-based participatory approach to develop and administer a survey to residents who perceived their work situations to be precarious.
Results: A total of 489 residents were surveyed.
While research suggests that both negative affect and alcohol use are impacted by exposure to harassment (i.e., sexual harassment, generalized harassment or bullying), less is known about the effect of harassment on negative affect subsequently leading to alcohol consumption, particularly in young adults.
