A systemic approach to identifying sustainable community-based interventions for improving adolescent mental health: a participatory group model building and design protocol.

Background: The deteriorating mental health of children and young people in the United Kingdom poses a challenge that services and policy makers have found difficult to tackle. Kailo responds to this issue with a community-based participatory and systemically informed strategy, perceiving mental health and well-being as a dynamic state shaped by the interplay of broader health determinants. The initiative works to explore, define and implement locally relevant solutions to challenges shaping the mental health and well-being of young people.

Differing Effects of Alcohol Use on Epigenetic and Brain Age in Adult Children of Parents with Alcohol Use Disorder.

Background: It is known that being the adult child of a parent with an alcohol use disorder (ACoA) can confer a wide variety of increased health and psychological risks, including higher rates of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms. Additionally, ACoAs are at greater risk of developing alcohol/substance use disorders (AUDs/SUDs) than individuals from families without a history of AUDs.

Methods: ACoA individuals with risky hazardous alcohol use ( = 14) and those not engaged in hazardous use ( = 14) were compared to a group of healthy controls.

UK Foot and Ankle Thromboembolism (UK-FATE).

Aims: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a potential complication of foot and ankle surgery. There is a lack of agreement on contributing risk factors and chemical prophylaxis requirements. The primary outcome of this study was to analyze the 90-day incidence of symptomatic VTE and VTE-related mortality in patients undergoing foot and ankle surgery and Achilles tendon (TA) rupture.

Using electronic health records to classify risk for adverse safety events with ICU patient Mobility: A Cross-Sectional study.

Background: Integrating early mobility (EM) expert consensus recommendations into an algorithm that uses electronic health record (EHR) data provides an opportunity for ICU nurse decision support.

Objective: This study aimed to compare clinical differences in ICU EM algorithm domains among patients with and without documented EM and examine discordance between algorithm classification and documented EM.

Methods: Secondary analysis of EHR data from adults admitted to the ICU from one health system's electronic data warehouse.
