Challenges in cellular agriculture: lessons from Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei.

The overall goal of this research was to develop an embryonic stem cell (ESC) line from the Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, to support production of cell-based cultivated seafood products towards meeting a growing global demand for sustainable seafood. It was hypothesized that characteristics of ESCs, such as high proliferation and pluripotency, would facilitate development of a continuous cell line that could be triggered to differentiate into a muscle cell phenotype. The targeted approach was based on collection of ESCs from fertilized shrimp eggs at the blastomere stage.

Increasing numbers of transgender and gender diverse adolescents seek endocrine treatment to align their body to their gender identity. In this relatively young field of medicine, there is a limited body of evidence, and the available evidence generally is of low quality. However, in the absence of randomised trials, much can be learned from prospective observational studies.

Patient assessment of the CAPE: A solution to negative pressure isolation in an emergency department.

Introduction: The Collapsible Aerosolized Particle Enclosure (CAPE) is a negative pressure patient isolation device designed to protect patients and clinicians from aerosolized infectious particles. The CAPE is intended to provide a safe environment for care receipt and delivery when isolation capacity is limited. The goal of this study was to evaluate the acceptability of receiving care in the CAPE from the emergency department (ED) patient perspective.

Gender Incongruence in Danish Youth (GenDa): A Protocol for a Retrospective Cohort Study of Danish Children and Adolescents Referred to a National Gender Identity Service.

In recent years, the national Gender Identity Service for individuals under 18 years of age in Denmark has seen a considerable increase in referrals of youngsters during puberty. Given this development, it is important to deepen our understanding of the characteristics of contemporary youngsters seeking help for gender incongruence. This understanding can serve as the foundation for improving current treatment regimens by ensuring optimal individual assessment and care.
