Background: Hydrocephalus is frequent in sub-Saharan African countries. The postinfectious hydrocephalus tends to decrease. The objective of this study was to identify the etiologies and outcomes of hydrocephalus.

The impact of African-trained neurosurgeons on sub-Saharan Africa.

Objective: Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) represents 17% of the world's land, 14% of the population, and 1% of the gross domestic product. Previous reports have indicated that 81/500 African neurosurgeons (16.2%) worked in SSA-i.

Middle meningeal artery aneurysm: Case report.

Background: Aneurysms of meningeal middle artery (MMA) are extremely rare. These aneurysms are of two types: true aneurysm and pseudoaneurysm. The true type is usually seen with pathologic conditions.

[Problematics of subarachnoid hemorrhage in developing countries: The case of Togo].

Objective: To analyze the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies as well as the results of the treatment of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) in Togo, before creating a neurosurgery department.

Methods: We conducted a case series of subarachnoid hemorrhage collected from 30 June 2005 to 30 June 2010 in the Universities Hospital of Lomé. It involved patients older than 15 years of age hospitalized for subarachnoid hemorrhage with clinical and/or radiation confirmation.

[Cerebral primitive osteosarcoma, a radiological and histological atypia].

Introduction: Osteosarcoma is a malignant mesenchymal tumor including cells that present an osteoblastic differentiation. On the skull, it has often extra-axial development associated with bone reaction. We report an atypical and rare case of intracranial or cerebral osteosarcoma underline the radiological and pathological diagnostic difficulties.
