Anorexia Nervosa in Polish Children and Adolescents in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic-An Observational Single Centre Study.

Introduction: Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychiatric disorder with a high mortality rate and significant prevalence in the paediatric population. Preliminary reports during the COVID-19 pandemic suggested an increased incidence of AN among children and adolescents. The objective of this study was to analyse new cases of AN before, during, and after the pandemic, with a particular focus on the physical manifestations of the disease.

Distinguishing hypertensive cardiomyopathy from cardiac amyloidosis in hypertensive patients with heart failure: a CMR study with histological confirmation.

Purpose: Differentiation of the cause of left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is challenging in cases with co-existing hypertension. CMR offers assessment of diffuse myocardial abnormalities via T1 mapping with extracellular volume fraction (ECV) and macroscopic fibrosis via late gadolinium enhancement imaging (LGE). The goal of the study was to understand if CMR parameters can differentiate hypertensive cardiomyopathy (HC) from cardiac amyloidosis (CA) in patients with hypertension and heart failure, using endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) as the gold standard.

Dietary Habits, Awareness, and Knowledge among Polish Healthcare Providers and Healthcare Students.

: Nutrition plays a significant role in preventive medicine, as up to 80% of chronic diseases could be avoided by adhering to healthy dietary principles. The aim of our study was to identify dietary habits, awareness, and nutrition knowledge in a random sample of Polish healthcare students and professionals. Methods: Initially, a total screened sample consisted of 1287 respondents, yet the actual response/participation rate was 634/1287.

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Physically Fit Young Patients Sans Comorbidities Who Recently Recovered from Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Introduction And Objective: Multiple studies showed that patients with a severe course of COVID-19 may develop cardiovascular complications. Assessment of the incidence of myocardial injury in young, physically fit male patients with no comorbidities, and asymptomatic/mild course of the disease who recovered from COVID-19.

Material And Methods: A prospective, single-center, observational cohort study of 75 young (median[IQR] age 22 years) physically fit male patients, without comorbidities and smoking who recently recovered from COVID-19.
