The rapidly increasing and vast quantities of biomedical reports, each containing numerous entities and rich information, represent a rich resource for biomedical text-mining applications. These tools enable investigators to integrate, conceptualize, and translate these discoveries to uncover new insights into disease pathology and therapeutics. In this protocol, we present CaseOLAP LIFT, a new computational pipeline to investigate cellular components and their disease associations by extracting user-selected information from text datasets (e.

The chemical composition and stoichiometry of vertebrate bodies changes greatly during ontogeny as phosphorus-rich bones form, but we know little about the variation among species during early development. Such variation is important because element ratios in animal bodies influence which element limits growth and how animals contribute to nutrient cycling. We quantified ontogenetic variation from embryos through 2-3 months of age in 10 species of fish in six different families, ranging in adult size from 73 to 720 mm in length.

The Early Intervention Parenting Partnerships (EIPP) program is a home visiting program that provides home visits, group services, assessments and screenings, and referrals delivered by a multidisciplinary team to expectant parents and families with infants who experience socioeconomic barriers, emotional and behavioral health challenges, or other stressors. The present study examines whether EIPP successfully meets its aims of screening families for social and environmental factors that may increase the risk of children's developmental delays and connect them to the larger statewide early intervention (EI) system relative to families with similar background characteristics who do not receive EIPP. Coarsened exact matching was used to match EIPP participants who enrolled between 2013 and 2017 to a comparison group of families identified from birth certificates.

During the early development of Placentalia, a distinctive projection emerges at the posterior embryonic-extraembryonic interface of the conceptus; its fingerlike shape presages maturation into the placental umbilical cord, whose major role is to shuttle fetal blood to and from the chorion for exchange with the mother during pregnancy. Until recently, the biology of the cord's vital vascular anlage, called the body stalk/allantois in humans and simply the allantois in rodents, has been largely unknown. Here, new insights into the development of the mouse allantois are featured, from its origin and mechanism of arterial patterning through its union with the chorion.

The present study evaluated the individual and combined effects of coated and uncoated phytase on broiler performance, tibia characteristics, and residual phytate phosphorus (P) in manure. Two repeated studies were conducted using 240-day-old Cobb 500 by-product male broilers per trial. For each trial, birds were assigned to four treatments with four replicate battery cages per treatment (60 birds/trt) and grown for 21 days.
