View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: To report the 2-year effective and safety profile of integrated phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation (PEI), goniosynechialysis (GSL) and 120° goniotomy (GT) in advanced primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) and cataracts.
Design: Multicentre prospective study.
Methods: 201 eyes of 196 patients who received combined PEI+GSL+ GT were assessed at baseline and re-evaluated at days 1, 7, and at 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 months postsurgery.
Background: Complications following total hip arthroplasty (THA) may necessitate a revision and patients who go on to a revision THA may experience depressive symptoms. The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of depressive symptoms before and after revision THA for six different failure modes.
Methods: Patients who underwent a THA revision with minimum 1-year follow-up at a single institution from 2008 to 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.
Background: Children with severe neurological impairment (SNI) have central nervous system conditions that result in medical complexity and lifelong caregiver assistance. When children with SNI are admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), their parents/families may experience elevated stress due to poor communication with clinicians.
Methods: To address this, we created a photo-narrative intervention designed to facilitate parent-clinician communication.
Purpose: To evaluate the two-year outcomes of combined surgical peripheral iridectomy (SPI), goniosynechialysis (GSL), and goniotomy (GT) for advanced primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) without cataract.
Design: Multicenter prospective study.
Methods: The study included patients who received a combined SPI + GSL + GT for advanced PACG without cataract, all completed a 24-month follow-up.
