Thermal springs harbour microorganisms, often dominated by cyanobacteria, which form biofilms and microbial mats. These phototrophic organisms release organic exudates into their immediate surroundings, attracting heterotrophic bacteria that contribute to the diversity and functioning of these ecosystems. In this study, the microbial mats from a hydrothermal pool in the Ksar Ghilane oasis in the Grand Erg Oriental of the Desert Tunisia were collected to obtain cyanobacterial cultures formed by single cyanobacterial species.

Introduction: Pentostatin (2'-deoxycoformycin) and cladribine (2-chlorodeoxyadenosine) are adenosine analogues widely used to treat lymphoid malignancies, mainly hairy cell leukemia (HCL). Oral or parenteral adenosine analogues have been also used as immunomodulatory agents in multiple sclerosis and in acute graft-versus-host disease.

Case Report: Here, we report the case of a 43-year-old patient with a history of extensive psoriasis who later developed HCL.

In this work, we present detailed investigations of methanethiol adsorption on a Cu(4 1 0) surface within the framework of the self-consistent first-principles calculations as implemented in the Vienna ab initio simulation package (VASP). In particular, the adsorption sites, the surface coverage rate and electronic properties have been determined and compared to experimental values. The results indicate that the favorable adsorption site in the case of low coverage rate is a bridge on the step followed by the hollow site on the terrace.
