Antifungal combination therapy for invasive fungal infections in a paediatric oncology and haematology department: A retrospective analysis of practice.

Background: Invasive fungal infections (IFI) are an important cause of morbidity and mortality in children with leukaemia. International guidelines recommend a monotherapy for most IFI. The use of antifungal combination therapy (ACT) has been reported, but clinical data supporting these combinations are scarce, particularly in paediatrics.

Chemical Recycling of Vacuum-Infused Thermoplastic Acrylate-Based Composites Reinforced by Basalt Fabrics.

The objective of this work was to compare the material recovered from different chemical recycling methodologies for thermoplastic acrylate-based composites reinforced by basalt fabrics and manufactured by vacuum infusion. Recycling was done via chemical dissolution with a preselected adapted solvent. The main goal of the study was to recover undamaged basalt fabrics in order to reuse them as reinforcements for "second-generation" composites.

Identifying Riemannian Singularities with Regular Non-Riemannian Geometry.

We identify a class of singular spacetimes known in general relativity with regular non-Riemannian geometries. Local fungal infections with Candida, Fusarium, Curvularia and Aspergillus can lead to serious ulceration of the cornea and must be treated rapidly. The current treatment consists of 0.15% (w/v) amphotericin B eye drops prepared from Fungizone, containing deoxycholate, irritant for the cornea, which reduces patient compliance.
