Updated assessment of occupational safety and health hazards of climate change.

Workers, particularly outdoor workers, are among the populations most disproportionately affected by climate-related hazards. However, scientific research and control actions to comprehensively address these hazards are notably absent. To assess this absence, a seven-category framework was developed in 2009 to characterize the scientific literature published from 1988-2008.

Influences on understanding of a verbally presented police caution amongst adults involved in the criminal justice system: a systematic review.

This review systematically examines the literature exploring comprehension of a verbally presented police caution and the suggested factors influencing this, amongst adults within the criminal justice system. An electronic literature search returned 438 titles, with screening leaving 13 articles considered appropriate for the review question. The majority of these were USA studies, with two UK and two Canadian studies.

The Scottish police caution: do individuals with intellectual disabilities understand a verbally presented police caution, and can comprehension be improved?

This study considers comprehension of the Scottish police caution amongst people with an intellectual disability ( = 30). It applies techniques to the caution that are suggested to increase its 'listenability', to examine whether this could be a successful method of improving understanding. These techniques include providing instructions, further explanations and listing information.

When the mask comes off: Mothers' experiences of parenting a daughter with autism spectrum condition.

Parents of children with autism spectrum condition report increased stress and difficulties compared with parents of typically developing children. Our knowledge and understanding of how autism spectrum condition presents in autistic females is currently limited and parents of this population may experience challenges when raising their daughter. Given that mothers are often the main caregiver of a child with autism spectrum condition, they may have useful insights into the experiences of parenting a daughter with autism spectrum condition.
