Evaluation of Scalibor® deltamethrin collar chronic exposure in dogs.

Deltamethrin is a pesticide used worldwide with several applications in the control of nuisance arthropods in homes, agriculture, against ectoparasites in dogs and livestock. Recent studies indicate that deltamethrin can induce cardiotoxicity. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the toxicity of deltamethrin in dogs through exposure to commercial collars over 8 months.

An oral cancer screening program in Brazil: Analysis of seven years of outcome after its implementation in the suburban cities of São Paulo.

Objective: To describe the implementation of an oral cancer screening program at the Barretos Cancer Hospital (BCH) and present the outcome based on data obtained from 2014 to 2020.

Materials And Methods: The residents of the Regional Health District of Barretos (DRS-V) were personally invited by community health agents or nurses, and among 13,973 people, 15,222 oral examinations were carried out over the years in 18 of its municipalities. Oral examinations were performed at the Mobile Dental Unit and at the Prevention Department of the BCH.

Effects of coenzyme Q10 and N-acetylcysteine on experimental poisoning by paracetamol in Wistar rats.

Paracetamol (PAR) is a drug widely used in human and veterinary medicine as an analgesic and antipyretic, often involved in cases of intoxication. The most common clinical signs result from damage to red blood cells and hepatocytes, and this intoxication is considered a model for the induction of acute liver failure. In the present study, the hepatoprotective effects of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) against experimental paracetamol (PAR) poisoning were analysed.

Contamination of soil and the medicinal plant Phyllanthus niruri Linn. with cadmium in ceramic industrial areas.

Phyllanthus niruri is a plant that is used to prevent calcium oxalate crystallisation and to block the stone formation in urolithiasis. Contaminants in the environment can be readily taken up by medicinal plants due to their ability to absorb chemicals into their tissues. If contaminated plants are ingested, they have the potential to negatively affect human and environmental health.

Role of gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor mutations in patients with a wide spectrum of pubertal delay.

Objective: To analyze the GNRHR in patients with normosmic isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) and constitutional delay of growth and puberty (CDGP).

Design: Molecular analysis and in vitro experiments correlated with phenotype.
