The chiral amine catalyzed diastereo- and enantioselective [3 + 2] cycloaddition between isatin-derived azomethine ylides and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes was successfully carried out to afford spiro[oxindole-3,2'-pyrrolidine]s. It was anticipated that the formation of azomethine ylides occurred the cycloreversion of dispirooxindole-imidazolidines, which are precursor imine homodimers, in aqueous solvents.

A Case of Parasitic Leiomyoma in the Sigmoid Mesentery Following Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy.

Parasitic leiomyoma (PL) develops when fragments of a morcellated uterine leiomyoma, during procedures such as laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) or total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH), adhere to other tissues. We recently encountered a case where PL developed in the mesentery of the sigmoid colon following TLH. A 51-year-old woman had previously undergone TLH with in-abdominal morcellation.

Clinical characteristics of patients requiring emergency hospitalization due to immune-related adverse events: a retrospective study.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized cancer treatment, offering hope for various malignancies by enhancing the immune response against tumors. However, ICIs are associated with unique immune-related adverse events (irAEs), which differ significantly from conventional chemotherapy-induced toxicities. These irAEs, which affect more than 70% of patients and often escalate to severe grades, present substantial clinical management challenges and frequently necessitate emergency hospitalization.

Improvement of Hypoalbuminemia and Hepatic Reserve after Stent Placement for Post-Surgical Portal Vein Stenosis.

Purpose: To investigate the change in serum albumin levels and hepatic reserve scores before and after portal vein stent placement (PVS) for post-surgical portal vein stenosis.

Material And Methods: A retrospective cohort of patients undergoing PVS after abdominal surgery between 2007 and 2021 was analyzed. Patients' age, sex, and PVS technical success (defined by portal vein patency at final portography) were evaluated.
