Femtosecond laser assisted selective etching of microchannels in lithium niobate.

Here, we report on the fabrication of cm-long microchannels in LiNbO by selective etching of femtosecond laser inscribed tracks using hydrofluoric acid. We achieved a 1 cm long microchannel after 300 h of etching a single track inscribed into the volume along the optical axis of LiNbO. Furthermore, we investigated the dependence of the etching behavior on various writing parameters.

Alfaxalone, a neuroactive steroid with anesthetic properties, is considered safe when used alone or in combination with other drugs for anesthesia at recommended species doses, and its use has been studied in numerous species. The objective of this study was to assess the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of IM alfaxalone in Indian peafowl (; hereafter peafowl). Eight female peafowl from one zoological institution were used.

Antepartum depression, general anxiety symptoms, and pregnancy-related anxiety have been recognized to affect pregnancy outcomes. Systematic reviews on these associations lack consistent findings, which is why further research is required. We examined the associations between psychological distress, mode of birth, epidural analgesia, and duration of labor.

FATAL IN A LESSER SPOT-NOSED GUENON ().

A 4-yr-old male intact lesser spot-nosed guenon (), housed at a North American zoological facility, presented with acute lethargy, inappetence, and mild neurologic signs. Physical examination revealed hemorrhagic pleural effusion in the right hemithorax. This guenon's condition improved over several days but then deteriorated, and the guenon presented with lethargy and weakness.

µJ-level multi-cycle terahertz generation in a periodically poled Rb:KTP crystal.

We demonstrate multi-cycle terahertz (MC-THz) generation in a 15.5 mm long periodically poled rubidium (Rb)-doped potassium titanyl phosphate (Rb:PPKTP) crystal with a poling period of 300 µm. By cryogenically cooling the crystal to 77 K, up to 0.
