Introduction: Recovery-oriented approaches in mental health emphasize personal growth, agency, and meaningful community integration. While endorsed by policies and reforms, the practical implementation of such approaches remains challenging, particularly in settings like Denmark, where structural fragmentation, professional hierarchies, and resource constraints may limit the adoption of holistic recovery principles.

Methods: This qualitative study employed focus group interviews with 21 health professionals from inpatient units and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams in Danish mental health services.

Microbially Enhanced Growth and Metal Capture by Ferromanganese Concretions in a Laboratory Experiment.

The growth and metal enrichment of ferromanganese minerals on the seafloor have intrigued many studies, yet the role of microbes in the process has remained elusive. Here, we assessed the microbial influence on the growth and trace metal accumulation and release of ferromanganese concretions from the Baltic Sea using 12-week microcosm incubation experiments. We studied three concretion morphotypes: Crust, discoidal, and spheroidal, with biotic and abiotic treatments.

Automated Supraclavicular Brown Adipose Tissue Segmentation in Computed Tomography Using nnU-Net: Integration with TotalSegmentator.

Background/objectives: Brown adipose tissue (BAT) plays a crucial role in energy expenditure and thermoregulation and has thus garnered interest in the context of metabolic diseases. Segmentation in medical imaging is time-consuming and prone to inter- and intra-operator variability. This study aims to develop an automated BAT segmentation method using the nnU-Net deep learning framework, integrated into the TotalSegmentator software, and to evaluate its performance in a large cohort of patients with lymphoma.

Enhanced extraction of methylene blue by dodecyl-methyl imidazolium dodecyl sulfate GUMBOS - magnetic alginate beads.

In this study, dodecyl-methyl imidazolium dodecyl sulfonate ([CMIm][DS]) GUMBOS were synthesized and incorporated into alginate with γ-FeO to fabricate magnetic adsorbent beads ([C₁₂MIm][DS]-beads) for methylene blue (MB) removal. Characterization via ESI-MS, FT-IR, SEM, BET, and TGA confirmed their structure and properties. The beads achieved a maximum adsorption capacity of 4.

Increased Herpes simplex virus 1, Toxoplasma gondii and Cytomegalovirus antibody concentrations in severe mental illness.

Infections with Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV1) and Toxoplasma gondii (TG) have been implicated in severe mental illness. All three pathogens have high seroprevalence in the human population, are neurotropic and establish a persistent infection. We hypothesized that exposed (seropositive) patients with severe mental illness would show higher immunoglobulin G (IgG) concentrations than exposed healthy controls (HC).
