Fructose consumption has increased considerably over the past five decades, largely due to the widespread use of high-fructose corn syrup as a sweetener. It has been proposed that fructose promotes the growth of some tumours directly by serving as a fuel. Here we show that fructose supplementation enhances tumour growth in animal models of melanoma, breast cancer and cervical cancer without causing weight gain or insulin resistance.

This research paper investigates the electrocatalytic mechanisms and ultra-trace detection abilities of uranyl ions (UO) using palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) electrodeposited in deep eutectic solvents (DESs). The unique properties of DESs, such as their adjustable viscosity and ionic conductivity, offer an advantageous and environmentally friendly medium for Pd nanoparticle electrodeposition, resulting in highly active and stable electrocatalysts. Various characterization techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), were used to examine the morphology, size distribution, and crystallographic structure of the Pd nanoparticles.

Antimicrobial resistance transmission from farm animals to humans is a critical health concern and hence a detailed molecular surveillance is essential for tracking the spread and consequent evolution of antimicrobial resistance. In this study, a pan-drug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae MS1 strain was isolated from a healthy broiler farm and studied.
