Background: Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a vector-borne disease caused by Leishmania parasites and transmitted by sand fly bites, targeted for elimination in India. VL primarily affects rural, low-income populations with limited health care access. In South Asia, few studies have explored patients' perspectives, diagnoses, and treatment experiences; particularly lacking an understanding about the patients' life experiences outside of clinical research settings.

Purpose: To compare the surgical and microbiological characteristics of fracture related infection (FRI) that had union and those requiring additional surgery to promote bone healing. We hypothesized that FRIs with MRSA will have higher risk for reoperation to promote bone healing.

Methods: This is a retrospective study on 247 patients over 18 who underwent bone fixation for pelvis, upper, and lower extremities fractures between 2013 and 2021 at a level I trauma center.

Aims: To predict the budget impact of Symvess (Symvess is a trademark of Humacyte Global, Inc.) (acellular tissue engineered vessel-tyod [ATEV]) for extremity arterial trauma repair when autologous vein repair is not feasible.

Materials And Methods: The 3-year budget impact of adding ATEV as a repair option alongside autologous vein, prosthetic graft, and "non-autologous other" grafts was evaluated from the perspectives of a Level I trauma center and third-party commercial payers.

Liposomal doxorubicin (Dox), a treatment option for recurrent ovarian cancer, often suffers from suboptimal biodistribution and efficacy, which might be addressed with precision drug delivery systems. Here, we introduce a catheter-based endoscopic probe designed for multispectral, quantitative monitoring of light-triggered drug release. This tool utilizes red-light photosensitive porphyrin-phospholipid (PoP), which is encapsulated in liposome bilayers to enhance targeted drug delivery.
