P-cadherin (pCAD) and LI-cadherin (CDH17) are cell-surface proteins belonging to the cadherin superfamily that are both highly expressed in colorectal cancer. This co-expression profile presents a novel and attractive opportunity for a dual targeting approach using an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC). In this study, we used a unique avidity-driven screening approach to generate pCAD x CDH17 bispecific antibodies that selectively target cells expressing both antigens over cells expressing only pCAD or only CDH17.

Obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is associated with significant morbidity attributed to left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction. Although alcohol septal ablation (ASA) is an established interventional treatment, mavacamten, a novel cardiac myosin inhibitor, has emerged as a noninvasive pharmacologic alternative. Understanding the comparative efficacy of these 2 treatments is important for optimizing patient care.

Leflunomide can be used in management of psoriatic disease. Leflunomide's active metabolite, teriflunomide, is used in the treatment of multiple sclerosis and has unexpectedly been rarely reported to induce pustular psoriasis. In this report, we present a patient with multiple sclerosis who developed inverse psoriasis after starting teriflunomide.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study explores the relationship between mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a potential precursor to Alzheimer's disease, and articulatory precision in speech by introducing a new measure called the phoneme log-likelihood ratio (PLLR).
  • - Researchers analyzed speech recordings from various groups, including cognitively unimpaired individuals and those with MCI or dementia, and found that MCI and dementia participants displayed reduced speech fluency and pace.
  • - The PLLR demonstrated strong effectiveness in distinguishing between cognitively unimpaired participants and those with cognitive decline, highlighting its potential as a sensitive tool for detecting early changes in speech related to cognitive health.

Dear Editor, we read the article "Sarcopenia Prevalence Among Hospitalized Patients with Severe Obesity: An Observational Study" and found it to be of great interest. The exploration of this important topic is highly commendable; however, we would like to highlight a critical issue that has not been fully addressed in this study. Specifically, the study does not fully adhere to the consensus definition of sarcopenic obesity (SO) as outlined by the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) and the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO), as we will explain below.
