Musical neglect training for chronic persistent left hemispatial neglect with right hemiplegia post-stroke: a case report.

A 69-year-old right-handed man, who initially suffered a stroke 8 years ago and experienced two recurrences since then, presented with right hemiplegia and left hemispatial neglect as a post-stroke syndrome in the chronic phase. This report demonstrates the use of active musical instrument playing with Musical Neglect Training (MNT®) to improve severe left-side neglect and activities of daily living (ADLs). In addition to physical and occupational therapy, individual MNT® was incorporated into the patient's rehabilitation plan to improve his hemispatial neglect.

Long-term survival analysis based on tumor location in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who underwent pancreatectomy following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy.

Background: The study aimed at assessing whether long-term survival outcomes were different based on tumor location in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients who underwent pancreatectomy following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT).

Methods: Following CRT, resection rate was 60.5% (286/473) and the resected patients had pancreatic head (n = 218), body (n = 34) and tail (n = 34) tumors.

Background: The long-term valve durability of supra-annular self-expanding valves (SEV) and intra-annular balloon-expandable valves (BEV) in patients with small aortic annuli remains unexplored.

Aims: This study aimed to determine the long-term bioprosthetic valve durability with SEV versus BEV in patients with small aortic annuli.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and an aortic annulus area of 430 mm or less who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement using SEV and BEV between October 2009 and December 2022.

Background: Perioperative treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is attracting attention. The effect of neoadjuvant tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy on postoperative long-term outcomes in patients with driver gene mutations remains unclear. The aim of this study was to clarify the long-term survival outcomes of patients with stage III NSCLC harboring driver gene mutations who received preoperative TKI therapy.
