Heterogeneity in Developmental Trajectories of Internalizing and Externalizing Symptomatology: Associations with Risk and Protective Factors.

Among a large sample of youth (9-10 years old at baseline) from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study® (n = 11,661) we modeled trajectories of psychopathology over three years and associated risk and protective factors. Growth mixture modeling characterized latent classes with distinct psychopathology trajectories. Results indicated four different internalizing trajectories: a high-decreasing class, a moderate-decreasing class, a moderate-increasing class, and a low-stable class.

UniVar: A variant interpretation platform enhancing rare disease diagnosis through robust filtering and unified analysis of SNV, INDEL, CNV and SV.

Background: Interpreting the pathogenicity of genetic variants associated with rare diseases is a laborious and time-consuming endeavour. To streamline the diagnostic process and lighten the burden of variant interpretation, it is crucial to automate variant annotation and prioritization. Unfortunately, currently available variant interpretation tools lack a unified and comprehensive workflow that can collectively assess the clinical significance of these types of variants together: small nucleotide variants (SNVs), small insertions/deletions (INDELs), copy number variants (CNVs) and structural variants (SVs).

Physicochemical and Microbiological Stability of Ursodiol Oral Compounded Suspensions.

Objective: In the United States, ursodiol is commercially available as solid dosage forms, which represents a problem for children who cannot swallow capsules or tablets. There is a lack of an age-appropriate formulation for ursodiol, and the extemporaneous preparation of an oral suspension with an extended beyond-use-date (BUD) may represent a good therapeutic alternative for the pediatric population. However, all pharmacists need validated stability studies to prepare oral liquids with high quality and safety.

Beyond smoking: The role of stigma in asthma rates among youth.

Objective: This study aimed to examine asthma disparities at the intersection of four sociodemographic characteristics, inhaled substance use, and bias-based bullying as metrics of stigma. We hypothesized that high prevalence groups for asthma would be those with marginalized social positions and those reporting bullying experiences, independent of inhaled substance use.

Method: The analytic sample ( = 90,367) included eighth, ninth, and 11th grade students who participated in the 2022 Minnesota Student Survey.
