Background: Docetaxel chemotherapy is a standard of care for metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC): 40-50% of patients achieve a biochemical response. However, there is a lack of response predictive biomarkers.

Objective: To assess lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) as a docetaxel response biomarker in mCRPC and to examine the association of LDH with genomic alterations in primary diagnostic biopsies.

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery is well established but the reported incidence is variable due to varying definitions and criteria. Furthermore there is a paucity of such data from Southeast Asia.

Objectives: To determine the incidence of AKI, the associated risk factors, and its impact on early mortality and intensive care unit/hospital stay.

Surgical Management of Stuttering Ischemic Priapism: A Case Report and Concise Clinical Review.

Stuttering priapism is an extremely rare and poorly understood entity. We present a rare case of a 47-year-old Afro-Caribbean gentleman who required proximal shunt procedure to treat his ischemic stuttering priapism after he had failed medical management. We provided a concise review of the literature on the surgical management of ischemic priapism.

Localised amyloidosis of the glans penis presenting as a painless lump with progression after 10 years.

Primary amyloidosis of the genitourinary tract is uncommon, and isolated invasion of the glans penis is exceptionally rare Degos et al. (Bull Soc Fr Dermatol Syphiligr 68:159, 1961). We report a case of localised amyloidosis of the glans penis in a 40-year-old presenting as an asymptomatic penile mass which changed after 10 years prompting treatment.

The twisted diversion: a paralyzing complication.

Ileal conduit remains a widely used urinary diversion performed after radical cystectomy. However, complications of ileal conduits remain an important concern in urological surgery. We report a rare case of an ileal conduit stricture, which can have grim complications if unobserved during the operation.
