Introduction: Recent work has revealed that clonal hematopoiesis (CH) is associated with a higher risk of numerous age-related diseases, including ischemic stroke, however little is known about whether it influences stroke outcome independent of its widespread effects on cardiovascular disease. Studies suggest that leukocytes carrying CH driver mutations have an enhanced inflammatory profile, which could conceivably exacerbate brain injury after a stroke.

Methods: Using a competitive bone marrow transplant model of -mediated CH, we tested the hypothesis that CH would lead to a poorer outcome after ischemic stroke by augmenting brain inflammation.

Background: Covered stent correction for a sinus venosus atrial septal defect (SVASD) was first performed in 2009. This innovative approach was initially viewed as experimental and was reserved for highly selected patients with unusual anatomic variants. In 2016, increasing numbers of procedures began to be performed, and in several centers, it is now offered as a standard of care option alongside surgical repair.

Although dietitians possess expert knowledge on the interplay between nutrition and health, their specific role in family therapy for anorexia nervosa (FT-AN) remains a topic of debate. Some of the literature indicates insufficient evidence to affirm the impact of dietetic interventions, emphasising variability in outcomes and a need for standardised research. This study aimed to identify the clinical characteristics of adolescents requiring dietetic intervention during FT-AN and to assess differences in clinical outcomes between those receiving dietetic support and those who did not.

Methemoglobinemia is a rare, yet life-threatening disorder that occurs due to an accumulation of methemoglobin in the blood. The clinical presentation often includes dyspnea, cyanosis, and hypoxemia that shows little improvement with the administration of supplemental oxygen. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns against the administration of benzocaine to those younger than 2 years of age and urges manufacturers to add a statement regarding the possible development of methemoglobinemia to the packaging of any products containing this ingredient.

Background: Online child sexual victimization is increasingly facilitated by technology, but evidence of its prevalence and characteristics remains scarce. Reliable population-based data is critical to understand the magnitude and nature of the problem, and inform evidence-based prevention.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of nonconsensual sharing of sexual images of the child by any perpetrator, and of online sexual solicitation by any adult perpetrator; and to determine the characteristics of these experiences.
