Viral infections are characterized by dispersal from an initial site to secondary locations within the host. How the resultant spatial heterogeneity shapes within-host genetic diversity and viral evolutionary pathways is poorly understood. Here, we show that virus dispersal within and between the nasal cavity and trachea maintains diversity and is therefore conducive to adaptive evolution, whereas dispersal to the lungs gives rise to population heterogeneity.

The validation and clinical bioanalysis of the Bicycle® Toxin Conjugate zelenectide pevedotin in human plasma.

Background: The Bicycle® toxin conjugate (BTC) zelenectide pevedotin, formerly known as BT8009, is a novel bicyclic peptide targeting the Nectin-4 tumor antigen conjugated to the cytotoxin monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) via a valine-citrulline cleavable linker. Zelenectide pevedotin is currently being investigated in a Phase 1/2 (Duravelo-1, NCT04561362) clinical trial to determine safety and efficacy in patients with tumors associated with Nectin-4 expression. A simple regulated bioanalytical assay was developed to quantify intact zelenectide pevedotin in patient plasma samples.

Many libraries enjoy active and productive collaborations with Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program hubs and other translational initiatives like the IDeA Clinical & Translational Research Network. This article explores areas of potential partnership between libraries and Translational Science Hubs (TSH), highlighting areas where libraries can support the CTSA Program's five functional areas outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity.

Background: As a large proportion of older adults are insufficiently active, it is imperative to identify ways to increase incidental physical activity. Men's Sheds, a mutual-aid, community-based organisation appear to be a promising approach for optimising wellbeing outcomes.

Objectives: To investigate whether Men's Sheds attendance is associated with higher levels of physical activity, and the relationships between physical activity, health-related quality of life (HRQOL), and wellbeing in Men's Shed members.
