Only few centers have reported their observations on patients with very long-term kidney graft survival of more than 25 years. Eighty-six subjects were identified in our center with graft survival of >25 years. Donor age was 31.

Long-term outcome of liver transplant patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome secondary to myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Background: A considerable proportion of patients receiving liver transplants for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) suffer from myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). This study evaluated the long-term prognosis of liver-transplanted patients with BCS secondary to MPN and the effect of immunosuppression on MPN progression.

Methods: A total of 78 patients with BCS were evaluated between 1982 and 2013.

Liver afferents contribute to water drinking-induced sympathetic activation in human subjects: a clinical trial.

Unlabelled: Water drinking acutely increases sympathetic activity in human subjects. In animals, the response appears to be mediated through transient receptor potential channel TRPV4 activation on osmosensitive hepatic spinal afferents, described as osmopressor response. We hypothesized that hepatic denervation attenuates water drinking-induced sympathetic activation.
